COMBAT MUAY BORAN
 

Combat Muay Boran is a scientific combat system, based on traditional fighting techniques and principles original of Thailand, structured for barehanded fighting. Combat Muay Boran as it is practised in all IMBA Branches worldwide is fully combat oriented. IMBA’s technical curriculum has been continuously revised and perfected since the Academy was founded by Arjarn Marco De Cesaris back in 1993.

 

IMBA’s style of Muay Boran is based on 3 theoretical Pillars: Spirit, Science, Art.

 

 

Spirit translates into Respect for our ancestors, our teachers and our fellow students. Wai Khru (paying respect to teachers ceremony) is a formal way to show our gratitude to ancient masters and present teachers.

Fighting Science means searching into maximum Efficiency in combat. Knowing about vital points of the human body is of paramount importance. Fighters must learn how to hit but also where to hit and when

Muay Boran is an ancient Art of fighting; studying Muay Boran means training hard to reach perfect Form. Searching for aesthetic beauty in performing martial techniques is very important since it brings about enhanced fighting efficiency.

WHAT IS  MUAY BORAN IMBA

Muay Thai Boran (traditional Thai fighting) is the mother Martial Art that developed in 1932, into the combat sport of Thai Boxing or Muay Thai.
Muay Boran contains the combat martial art elements that were taken out to make the ring sport of Muay Thai.
  Traditional Muay owes its origins to ancestral fighting methods of the people of Siam, refined by continuous process of trial and correction,  unified today under the umbrella name of Muay Boran.

The MUAY BORAN IMBA system is a modern - traditional system based on three main pillars (technical pillars) 

COMBAT MUAY BORAN: A modern combative interpretation of the ancient principles of barehanded Thai Martial Arts.

IMBA LERT RIT: A Thai military close combat system adapted to civilian use, based on ancient battlefield strategies and techniques. 

IMBA MUAY PRAM: These technical pillers are interconnected and can be earned both as a stand-alone system or as the individual parts of which Muay Boran IMBA martial arts is made up.

The IMBA system is a system bringing together the Muay styles of Muay Chaiya, (Southern) Muay Korat (North-eastern) Muay Lopburi (Central) Muay Lert Rit (Military) and Muay Pram (Grappeling).
Muay Boran developed over more than a 1000 years and  it has been practised as a hand to hand combat system, a popular past time and a professional sport.
